Help members make the most of their plan: Prescription drug coverage
January is filled with opportunities for you to build relationships with your clients and help them start the year strong. Throughout the month, watch for a new article every week focused on 1 key area you can discuss with members to help them maximize their UnitedHealthcare plan and benefits. This week’s article features resources you and members can access to better understand prescription drug coverage.
An important first experience for many members with prescription drug coverage is filling their first prescription. With changes to Part D plans in 2026, it’s important to help members know what to expect or where to get information.
- Formulary changes took place Jan. 1, 2026. Members can use the member site to review their drug coverage or refer to the formulary change letter they received in November.
- Members may receive a reminder email to review their prescription costs, using tools on the member site.
- The deductible and coinsurance video explains how their prescription drug benefit works.
- Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) members impacted by the end of VBID can review the Medicare education article that outlines prescription drug cost changes.
Learn more by viewing the “Part D Overview - Quick Reference Guide” on Jarvis. Don’t forget, the best way to review current drug pricing and coverage is by using the Drug Cost Estimator.
