SSBCI key information and resources
In 2026, UnitedHealthcare is offering supplemental and non-medical benefits—like healthy food—through Special Supplemental Benefits for the Chronically Ill (SSBCI).
This page provides the latest information and updates related to SSBCI so you can help Dual Special Needs Plan members access their benefits.
What you need to know about SSBCI
- Help members self-indicate their qualifying chronic condition on the UnitedHealthcare mobile app or member site or by calling the Member Services number on the back of their ID card.
- When using third-party enrollment tools, such as Sunfire and Connecture, you are now required to answer the question related to chronic conditions. If the client does not have a condition, you may select “None of these conditions apply or I choose not to answer” and proceed without listing a provider and consenting to the HIPAA authorization.
